Waffle House Is The Greatest Chain Restaurant

I already knew that, but my belief was confirmed by a story about Major Christopher Cooper, one of the airmen who died in the B-52 crash this week:

The crew at Waffle House on Airline Drive also created a memorial. “He usually sat there or over there at that end,” said Manager Ann Smith. Smith says Major Cooper came in every morning for his usual. “He had steamed hash browns and egg whites scrambled up.” Now an empty bar stool is marked by an American flag. Cooper promised his breakfast buddies he’d see them in October. “He’s not going to see us and we want him to know we are thinking about him,” said Smith. Flags and flowers in red, white and blue are just a small token for those who gave all.

That’s class.

If you want more information about the airmen, the crash and the memorials, the Times has links to several stories here.
