If The King James Version Was Good Enough For Jesus . . .

Not quite as ignorant as that infamous defense of the KJV, but close, is Sarah Palin’s defense of “Under God” in the pledge:

If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

Ladies and Gents, John McCain’s choice to be your vice president!

But I suppose if you know that the pledge was written over a hundred years after the founding, and that “under God” only joined it around the time of John McCain’s twenty sixth birthday, then – clearly – you’re an arugala eating elitist who is out of touch with the American people.

UPDATE: Surprising no one familiar with the nakedly partisan nature of the organization, the Eagle Forum – whose questions elicited Palin’s shocking ignorance – has attempted to erase the record of her foolishness. Hence, the above link no longer works. Sadly for people facing child porn charges and for the Eagle Forum, but happily for the rest of us, you can’t just flush incriminating web pages like you would an ounce of weed. Here’s an archived view of Palin’s proud stupidity.
