Funniest Palin Story Yet

September 3, 2008

Not that the “fiscal reformer” became mayor of a town with little debt, but left it with over twenty million in debt. Not that she hired a DC lobbying firm to send pork to the same little town. Not that she worked to support one of the porkiest of senators – the recently indicted Ted Stevens.

Nope, it’s that John McCain, on three different occasions, used Palin’s pork projects as examples of irresponsible uses of public money:

For much of his long career in Washington, John McCain has been throwing darts at the special spending system known as earmarking, through which powerful members of Congress can deliver federal cash for pet projects back home with little or no public scrutiny. He’s even gone so far as to publish “pork lists” detailing these financial favors.

Three times in recent years, McCain’s catalogs of “objectionable” spending have included earmarks for this small Alaska town, requested by its mayor at the time — Sarah Palin. […]

Hilarious. I swear after this pick, I would not vote for John McCain if he held a gun to my head.

I guess the spin will be that NOW, she’s seen the light, and changed her ways. Just like John “Straight Talk” McCain has changed his on abortion, torture, campaign finance, the environment, and anything else he’s ever said.

Gustav A Dud In Shreveport

I doubt we had even an inch and a half of rain. I know we had no wind. As far as I can tell, no one lost power. A complete non-event.

It has been fun watching the local weather people doing their best to convince us that we could all die in a catastrophic weather event, even as their live reports show little puddles and fallen leaves as evidence of the “storm’s” ferocity.
