Misleading Headline Of The Day

During last night’s Jets-Vikings game, Brett Favre completed lass than half of his passes, was sacked numerous times, fumbled the ball three times (giving him the all time record for most fumbles, and giving the Jest two field goals), and on the final drive of the game, threw a pick six that gave the win to the Jest. So this morning, do we read about his record setting fumbles? The thirteen points he gave the other team? His inability to hit open receivers? His all around rotten egg of a game?

Of course not. Here’s the misleading headline:

Favre throws 500th TD, but Vikings fall

Ahh, poor Brett, valiantly fighting, only to have the Vikings lose the game. How have his teammates not mutinied?

Is this a better headline? “Favre’s finished, on and off the field”. Saw that on MSNBC news this afternoon.
